Over ten years ago, I began my journey as a mental health professional. Through my own process of growth (which I believe is lifelong) I’ve learned how much self-suffering we humans create through our thoughts, perspectives, and beliefs. If we are creating much of our suffering, it also lends true, that we have the power to create our healing. Peace, happiness, and fulfillment are gifts of life that come from our efforts of compassion and appreciation. As a therapist, it is my intention to help others embody these skills as they work toward their therapy goals.
The treatment I provide is primarily informed by Cognitive-behavioral Therapy: replacing unhelpful thinking patterns or emotional responses with those that are more desirable and adaptive; and, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: embracing thoughts and feelings mindfully rather than fighting or avoiding them.
I work with adults 21+ struggling with depression, anxiety, self-worth, relationship issues, life transitions, and general life stressors. I will provide education and support as we work on skills and strategies toward your personal growth.

I genuinely appreciate the uniqueness that is a part of each of us; I believe each individual/couple/family should be treated with unconditional positive regard and those differences celebrated and respected. Once a trusting relationship is established, my hope is to guide you towards identifying your own personal goals of fulfilment and meaning. I enjoy working with individuals and couples who are committed to deepening their understanding of communication, developing strategies for coping with life stressors, and improving their relationships. I hope to support you as we explore what motivates your thoughts and behaviors and how this impacts your journey towards a meaningful and happy life. Focusing on your strengths, natural supports, learning new skills and developing personal goals is core to my approach to therapy.
My personal philosophy of wellbeing is derived from the biopsychosocial model of health; recognizing the interconnectedness between our social situations, biological factors and psychological factors is key to wellbeing. I believe that deeper understanding of these connections allows us to fully explore both the internal and external factors that affect our thoughts, emotions and behavior.
I enjoy working with adolescents (12+) through adulthood, and couples seeking therapy. I am LGBTQIA affirming. Specialty areas of interest include helping people cope with stress, treating anxiety and depression, coping with illness, supporting children of alcoholics, PTSD/trauma, caregiver issues and self-care with the aging population, managing relationships, grief/loss and bereavement. I utilize therapeutic approaches derived from Mindfulness and MBSR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I look forward to working with you!

Since taking my first psychology course in high school, I knew that mental health counseling would be my career path. Understanding how trauma impacts the brain and how to unpack and adapt the information leading to a successful, functional life has always fascinated me. Since beginning my career in 2018, I have worked with at-risk youth and their families on many aspects of mental health including coping with trauma, stress, anxiety, problematic sexual behavior, parenting skills and positive communication. I utilize interventions from several clinical theories including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals!

With just over 7 years of clinical experience, I have had time to explore more than one level of care. All have been enjoyable, however something continues to bring me back to an individual outpatient setting. I value the therapeutic relationships that I create with each of my clients as they gain a deeper awareness of themselves. Through such practices as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and EMDR, I have watched my clients overcome obstacles in their lives that they did not think would be possible otherwise. Whether it may be stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, anger, grief, or fear, I am a firm believer that YOU have the answers. I enjoy working individually with children (5+) through adulthood, as well as with couples who are looking to strengthen their relationships. Additionally, I have a strong background in Substance Abuse Counseling, and am able to perform court ordered LADC evaluations and level of care assessments when needed. I look forward to working with you on your journey to discovering all that you are capable of! “Always remember, you are braver than you believe…stronger than you seem…smarter than you think…and loved more than you know”.

I’m becoming a therapist to offer a compassionate space and empathic ear to those struggling with a range of issues. I aim to meet clients where they are with regard to change, growth, and learning. Understanding the things that have happened to us in the past can help develop insight into our current problems & circumstances. While these experiences may have shaped us into the people we are today, there is often untapped potential in each of us to take charge of our mindset and behaviors to develop new ways of approaching conflicts or struggles. I believe we can activate this potential when we have support to discover new perspective in a safe, empathic environment. My role as a counselor is to help facilitate change and healing in a compassionate space both for individuals and couples. I work collaboratively with my clients to identify their strengths and explore opportunities for growth without judgment. I take an integrated approach to self-understanding, with an appreciation for the context of each individual. My approach encourages authenticity and openness in the therapeutic relationship which makes room for trust, appreciation, and empowerment. I do not believe that one size fits all for many things in life, including therapy, which makes finding the right therapist feel challenging. I believe the foundation for meaningful change begins with the relationship and trust established between a client and therapist. I bring compassion, understanding, and an individualized approach to therapy with hopes of establishing that rapport and trust needed to make clients feel safe enough to share their most vulnerable parts of themselves. I view the process as a collaborative journey, guided with empathy, authenticity, and a deep respect for the lived experiences of my clients.
My journey in this field began with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in Child and Family Services. I then pursued a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Addictions Treatment from Plymouth State University. I am a pre-licensed clinical mental health therapist under the supervision of a licensed therapist. I work with clients ages 14+ offering individual, family, and couples counseling. With over 5 years of experience working in child welfare, therapeutic residential treatment settings for adolescents, addiction treatment center and domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy, my clinical experience ranges widely. Using evidence-based practices and a trauma-informed strength-based approach, I strive to create a supportive and nonjudgemental space where individuals feel heard, validated, and empowered to explore their thoughts and opinions.
No matter what you or someone you know is going through, we all deserve the opportunity to process what life throws at us. I am here to help and would be honored to assist you in meeting whatever goals you have.

Without being intrusive, I listen to what you are looking for in a therapist, what your needs are, and connect you with the best fit.
I work with your insurance companies to ensure that you are utilizing your Behavioral Health benefits effectively and notify clients and therapists of changes that may occur. Insurance can be confusing and I am here to alleviate that piece so you can focus on working towards living your best life.

Talking with a therapist about what we have experienced, what we worry about, how we relate to others and how we relate to ourselves can bring about deeper understanding of who we are, what we want from our lives and how to find a path toward self-acceptance and peace. I’m a pre-licensed clinical mental health counselor, dedicated to providing a safe, compassionate, and empowering space for clients to explore both the roots of their distress and the tools to build a path toward healing. I use a strength based, solutions focused approach to support clients in developing a better understanding of themselves and an improved ability to manage the myriad of challenges life can present. My goal is to help clients find purpose and meaning and to diminish the obstacles that prevent them from having the life experience they want and deserve.

When I took my first sociology and psychology class in undergraduate school, I learned that I was fascinated with people, groups of people and social systems and how they all work together to develop the person and mind. I have worked in many different settings helping children, adolescents, and adults meet their goals. I have worked therapeutic residential settings, community mental health settings, community-based services settings and the academic setting providing services to individuals and families for the last 7 years. While working as a case manager at a community mental health center I developed a passion for talking with people and trying to help them develop skills to manage difficulties in their lives. From there I decided to return to school and get my Master of Social Work degree.
I have worked with children ages 8 and older, adults, and families who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, family conflict and emotional regulation. I have helped people meet their goals by using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and solution focused therapy. My goal is to help individuals and families learn skills to overcome obstacles, difficulties and meet their goals that they set.
